Tonga Buhera Natural Basket Vase - Various Sizes

The beautiful Tonga Buhera Natural Basket Vases are handcrafted by women artisans from the Buhera tribe living in Northern Zimbabwe’s Zambezi Valley.  Luangisa African Gallery works directly with a group of 15 Buhera master craft women to bring you the finest Tonga Buhera baskets. These basket vase bowls are woven by hand from Ilala palm fibers native to Zimbabwe, using the over and under style of simple weaving. A large 16-inch vase basket can take around two weeks to complete, which provides a sustainable source of income for their families. 

Tonga basket vases feature a versatile palette of a natural tan color. This gorgeous artistry make the Tonga vase baskets an eclectic table top accent for a living room or a bold statement in the foyer.  These vase baskets definitely add beautiful texture and dimension to any space.
